Polyamide 6 TLC Plates

Sorbtech offers TLC plates coated with polyamide 6, i. e. perlon (= e-aminopolycaprolactam). These plates can be supplied with or without an acid-resistant UV indicator with a fluorescence at 254 nm.

The presence of amide groups of the polymer matrix form strong hydrogen bonding with numerous classes of compounds with polar functional groups.

This unique H-bonding effect allows separations to be possible where other sorbents have failed to produce an acceptable separation.
