Alumina N TLC plates deliver excellent separations of basic and neutral compounds in normal-phase thin layer chromatography. Each plate is coated with high-purity aluminum oxide (pH 6–8) and reinforced with an inert organic binder to ensure strong adherence and reliable performance. The alumina layer provides a specific surface area of about 200 m²/g (BET) with an average pore size of 60 Å, making it highly effective for analytical applications.

To achieve the best results, we recommend activating the plates by heating them for 10 minutes at 120°C. Because water molecules are easily adsorbed and can block active sites, controlling moisture content is essential for reproducible separations.
