Florisil ® for Preparative and Analytical Chromatography

FLORISIL® is a synthetic magnesium-silicate that looks like a very white, hard powder. Because of its strong selectivity, it is used in many industries and applications. In addition, it plays an important role in creating high-quality cannabis and hemp extracts by removing many common pesticides and contaminants.

Over time, this material has become known as an industry standard for adsorbing pesticides and other unwanted compounds. As a result, it helps producers make extracts and concentrates that look clearer, taste purer, and appear more appealing.

Moreover, FLORISIL® works especially well in separating and purifying polar compounds, such as alcohols and amines. Since it has a strong attraction to these molecules, it performs very effectively in complex workflows. In addition, it resists chemical breakdown. Therefore, it works well with many different solvents and sample types without losing strength.

Most importantly, FLORISIL® remains a trusted tool in analytical chemistry. It is widely used in both research and industry to separate and purify specific compounds from complex mixtures. For this reason, laboratories in many different fields continue to rely on it for consistent, dependable, and high-quality results.

Florisil Benefits:

  • Effectively remove pesticides and unwanted color, leaving cleaner extracts
  • Eliminate haze and create crystal-clear finished products
  • Protect your yield by minimizing the loss of valuable components

FLORISIL® is a highly selective synthetic magnesium-silicate designed for adsorption and purification. Its main purpose is to capture and remove unwanted compounds, such as pesticides, pigments, and other impurities, from complex mixtures. Because of this, it helps chemists, researchers, and manufacturers achieve cleaner and more consistent results in their daily work.

How FLORISIL® Stands Out

Unlike other adsorbents, FLORISIL® offers a unique mix of benefits. First, it is very white and chemically stable, which gives both visual clarity and long-lasting performance. In addition, it shows a strong attraction to polar compounds like alcohols and amines, while still removing a wide variety of other contaminants. Moreover, it resists chemical breakdown, so it works well in both acidic and basic conditions and stays compatible with many solvents. As a result, FLORISIL® provides versatility that few other adsorbents can deliver.

Common Use Cases for FLORISIL®

FLORISIL® is widely used across many industries. For example, it is applied in:

  • Cannabis and hemp processing – removes pesticides and pigments, creating clearer and more appealing extracts.
  • Food safety testing – separates pesticide residues and contaminants in fruits, vegetables, and grains.
  • Pharmaceutical purification – isolates active ingredients and removes impurities during drug development.
  • Environmental analysis – cleans samples for PCB, PAH, and pesticide detection in soil and water.
  • Analytical chemistry – supports TLC, column chromatography, and sample preparation for complex mixtures.

In summary, FLORISIL® combines high selectivity, broad solvent compatibility, and strong chemical stability. Therefore, it continues to be a trusted choice for labs and industries that need accurate, repeatable, and high-quality purification. Most importantly, its reliability makes it useful from research studies to full industrial production.
